Outgoing mail
Spam also can be called junk mail or unsolicited mail and typically is sent out in bulk and for commercial purposes. We operate a strictly ‘no-tolerance’ policy towards spam and we do not send such mail to anyone unless we have previously received their permission to do so, or unless they have specifically asked for and have agreed to receive information, services or products from us. Such requests may be received by ourselves by email, via an email form on our websites, via an opt-in form or by any other method of specifically requesting information, services or products from ourselves.
When we have received such requests we may from time to time send mail marketing or advertising services or products available from ourselves or other providers. Some of this mail may be automatically generated by the providers of autoresponder and email marketing services. Our newsletters and blog notifications also are sent from the relevant website only if you have asked to receive them.
You are able to control whether you receive from ourselves any marketing or advertising mail, be it either manually or auto-generated. Similarly you may control receipt of newsletter and blog notifications. Should you wish to stop receiving any form of mail from ourselves, you may do so by using the ‘Unsubscribe’ link which appears at the bottom of all of our messages. By doing this you will delete your name and email address from the appropriate mailing list. You may have to do this more than once if you are subscribed to more than one mailing list. Please allow a few days for mail to cease in cases where automated messages may have been set to be mailed a few days ahead.
Incoming mail
Our systems scan all incoming mail and suspected spam may be filtered out. These filters are checked from time to time (but not regularly or daily) and any genuine messages are released.
Additionally, we may apply mail traps to any email account that may be subjected to excessive automated spam. These traps send a response to the sender of such mail asking them simply to reply to (return) that mail, without comment or any other action. When the reply is received, demonstrating that our request has been read and responded to by a human being, the sender’s original mail is released from the trap and delivered to the addressee’s inbox.
To help avoid the risk of your mail being blocked by any of our filters or traps, we recommend for any initial contact, the use of the email contact forms that are included in most of our websites,.
At our discretion, we may report incoming spam, resulting in the blacklisting of the sender’s IP address and/or domain name.
